The body was allegedly thrown into a gorge after the murder. Sonam’s boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, reportedly paid for the killers’ expenses. The assailants fled to Guwahati and then Shillong. An alternative plan to push Raja from hills and escape to Nepal was also considered.
