A political controversy has erupted over the inauguration of a flyover in Shimoga, Karnataka. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claimed he was not invited, calling it an insult to Kannadigas. However, the Centre has released two letters from Nitin Gadkari’s office inviting the CM to the event. Siddaramaiah cited prior commitments and alleged pressure from BJP leaders led to the schedule conflict. The CM’s office stated proper protocol was not followed for the event. The project in question is reportedly the longest flyover in Shimoga, constructed over the Singaduru River.
