In a tragic development at Baramati Airport, an aircraft carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has crashed, with initial reports indicating no survivors. The speaker notes, ‘Shri Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra was on board along with two more personnel and those two more personnel we now have details, one PSO, his personal security officer and one attendant and an aircrew of two crew members.’ The aircraft, a VSR-operated Learjet 45 with registration VT-SSK, reportedly burst into flames and split into pieces upon impact. Emergency services and the fire brigade reached the site as smoke and debris covered the airfield. Family members, including Supriya Sule and Ajit Pawar’s sons, are reportedly reaching Baramati following the news. India Today has accessed the official occurrence report which confirms five people were on board, including the aircrew. The cause of the crash-landing remains a matter of investigation as the aircraft was travelling from Mumbai to Baramati when the incident occurred.
