Punjab government has initiated a crackdown on protesting farmers at the Shambhu and Khanuri borders with Haryana. Nearly 700 farmers were detained in late-night action. Tents were demolished using bulldozers, and barricades were removed by Haryana police. Over 3,000 Punjab police personnel were deployed to remove farmers and their encampments. Farmers plan to hold protests across Punjab against what they term as atrocities unleashed on them.
