A Bharat Bandh called by the Bhima Army and several Dalit organisations on Wednesday in protest against a Supreme Court decision led to significant disruptions in Patna.
During a protest march, police lathicharged demonstrators blocking traffic. A cop inadvertently hit the Sub-Divisional Magistrate who was one of the officials present at the spot.
The incident was caught on camera and the video soon went viral.
The police termed the incident a human error. The district administration later said that the incident was an honest mistake, adding no disciplinary action would be taken against the police officer.
