A major security lapse occurred at the World Parathletics Championship in Delhi, hosted by India for the first time. Two foreign coaches were bitten by stray dogs in separate incidents at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Kenyan coach was attacked near the competition arena, while the Japanese coach was bitten during a training session on the warm-up track. Both received immediate medical attention at the venue before being transferred to a hospital and are now out of danger.
