SCO Summit: PM Modi, President Xi Talk Border Peace, Trade & Partnership Amidst Rivalry Concerns

At the SCO summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping of China held a bilateral meeting, their second in less than a year. The leaders framed their relationship on the consensus that the two countries are "partners rather than rivals," primarily focused on domestic development goals. They reviewed the progress since their last meeting in Kazan and noted the momentum in relations. Discussions covered the boundary question, with both appraising the outcomes of the 24th round of Special Representative talks and committing to a fair resolution. The meeting also addressed the need to reduce the bilateral trade deficit, cooperation on trans-border rivers, and jointly fighting terrorism. Prime Minister Modi also met with Myanmar’s Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, discussing connectivity, security, and India’s support for dialogue in Myanmar. #scosummit #indiachina #modiximeet #itwebvideos #bilateraltalks #borderdispute #tradedeficit #tianjin #indiandiplomacy #acteast #neighborhoodfirst #myanmar #brics #counterterrorism #asiancentury #geopolitics
