SCO Summit 2025: Can Indians Forget The Galwan Incident? Beijing Dispatch With Shawan Sen
Just over five years ago, the Galwan clash between India and China resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers. This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. And this year will also witness the biggest SCO Summit, in Tianjin, China, being covered live by Senior Editor Shawan Sen of Republic Media Network. The relationship has been marked by surprises and turmoil. It seems that India and China, two of the largest nations with significant economies and militaries, do not understand each other, especially as they share a disputed and unresolved border. The violent clash in June 2020 was the first incident of its kind since 1975. For nearly four decades, peace was maintained on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with the aid of confidence-building measures. These were established through long and careful discussions, mainly to prevent any violence on the LAC.
