Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for his government’s efforts in encouraging Naxalites to surrender in Gadchiroli, a district affected by Naxalism. Raut welcomed the surrender of 11 Naxalites, including a top leader with a ₹1 crore bounty, and acknowledged the government’s role in bringing them back into the mainstream Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, "…we have praised Devendra Fadnavis because the government has done good work…Maharashtra is our state and a place like Gadchiroli which is affected by Naxalism, if those Naxalites surrender and they follow the path of the Constitution then we welcome them in front of the Chief Minister…He should remove the unemployment and poverty in Gadchiroli. Devendra Fadnavis wants to build a steel city there which will increase the prestige of Maharashtra. People will get employment. So it should be welcomed…"
