A demolition drive is underway in Sambhal against a structure in the Asmoli Police Station area, identified as the Rai Buzurg Mosque. The action, conducted on Gandhi Jayanti, follows a court order for demolition issued one month prior. Officials, including DM Dr. Rajendra Pensiya, stated the structure, which includes a Janta Marriage Hall, was illegally built on pond land, causing waterlogging in the village. The administration noted that the demolition order was passed after hearing all parties and that it had not been appealed. The demolition is being carried out using bulldozers amidst a heavy deployment of police and PSA personnel to maintain law and order. To prevent any untoward incidents, villagers have been advised by the authorities to remain in their homes during the operation.
