Another leader from the Samajwadi Party, Virendra Bahadur, is facing charges of sexual assault. The accusations come from a woman lawyer who alleges that Bahadur blackmailed her with an objectionable video, leading to continued assaults. This follows previous allegations against other party members, Nawab Yadav and Moid Khan. The case is currently under investigation. Bahadur is a state secretary and active participant in the party, reportedly close to Shivpal Yadav.
