Russian Drones In Polish Airspace; NATO On High Alert After Incursion

A significant escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict is reported as Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Poland, a NATO member state, shot down the drones near the eastern city of Lubnyk on Wednesday and has called the incident a violation of NATO’s Article 5. In response, NATO allies have offered support; France has deployed three Rafale fighter jets, while Germany and Denmark have assured air defence systems. At the United Nations Security Council, Russia denied any intentional violation, stating, "these drones could not have entered the Polish airspace because the maximum range of these drones were only 700 kilometers." This incursion raises concerns about the conflict potentially expanding to directly involve a NATO country.
