Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha has lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission, accusing the Bihar government of a ‘brazen violation of the Model Code of Conduct’. Jha alleges that ‘financial disbursements violation of poll code’ have occurred. In a letter to the poll panel, Jha claims the state government made direct cash transfers to beneficiaries under a government scheme after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was already in force. He has termed these financial disbursements as a form of bribery intended to influence voting behaviour and has urged the Election Commission to take immediate and strong action to ensure the fairness of the electoral process. The complaint specifies that these alleged violations undermine the constitutional mandate for free and fair elections.
