Police clashed with protesters in the heart of Kolkata as parents of the young RG Kar doctor who was raped and killed last year led a march to the West Bengal secretariat (Nabanna) on Saturday. The rally descended into chaos as the protesters attempted to break barricades and march towards Nabanna, with the victim’s mother alleging that the police assaulted her and broke her bangles.
