Officials are scrutinising Rao’s financial transactions and bank records. Her mobile phone has been seized. The investigation is probing whether Rao acquired assets linked to the illegal trade. Rao, daughter of Karnataka’s DGP, allegedly smuggled gold using a modified jacket and police escorts to bypass airport security.
