Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu addressed the IndiGo crisis, which led to mass flight cancellations, calling it a result of the airline’s "gross mismanagement." Naidu attributed the operational collapse to internal crew rostering and failures to comply with new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) norms, placing blame on senior management. In response, the government ordered IndiGo to curtail its operations by 10% to stabilize its network. The minister warned that if the ongoing DGCA inquiry finds negligence, the government will take action, which could include asking for the CEO’s removal. Naidu also relayed that IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers was "seeking an apology…to the people of this country." While prioritizing passenger convenience during the holiday season disruption, Naidu also discussed the aviation sector’s long-term growth, highlighting a new Safran MRO facility in Hyderabad.
