In Haryana, a Congress MLA met with an aide of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini after voting. Congress ally Shiv Sena UBT’s Priyanka Chaturvedi was not fielded in Maharashtra. The BJP and its allies strengthened their position, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and BJP President Nitin Nabin entering the Rajya Sabha. The outcome increases NDA’s strength in the upper house, potentially easing legislative passage.
