Gandhi alleged that the administration has compromised India’s sovereignty by allowing free data flow to the US without requiring data localisation or source code disclosure. He claimed the deal weaponises Indian energy and finance, asserting that the United States now influences India’s oil procurement. Gandhi further argued that the agreement negatively impacts the agrarian sector by exposing poor farmers to competition from mechanised American farms. During the debate, he suggested the government is under a choke hold by industrialist Gautam Adani and attempted to reference names like Jeffrey Epstein and Anil Ambani. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and other BJP leaders countered these claims, demanding authentication and dismissing the remarks as unsubstantiated allegations. Gandhi maintained that the government’s actions represent a surrender of the interests of 1.5 billion Indians to foreign influence.
