Only 10 days remain for voters to submit their enumeration forms in Bihar as the Election Commission of India conducts its Special Intensive Revision. The ECI said only 7.2 million voter enumeration forms remain to be collected. So far, 86.32 per cent of all forms have been submitted across the state.
Over 35 lakh names may be deleted. And a past drive shows eastern Bihar may see the highest voter shift. Data tied to the January 1, 2024, electoral rolls show that voter deletions are not spread evenly across the map — eastern districts like Araria, Purnia, and Katihar are likely to see the largest number of names removed. On average, in eastern Bihar, 3,000 voters are deleted or shifted per constituency, more than the state average.
