The QUAD group comprising of US, India, Japan, Australia’s foreign minister met in Washington DC, US on July 01. India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar took part in QUAD FM meeting to represent India. Quad strongly condemned all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, including cross-border attacks, as per QUAD Joint statement. QUAD Leaders denounced April 22, 2025, dastardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The QUAD expressed deepest condolences to victims’ families and wishes for swift recovery. The attack claimed 25 Indian nationals’ lives and one Nepali citizen’s life, injuring several others. The QUAD called for “perpetrators, organizers, and financiers of this reprehensible act to be brought to justice without any delay.” Leaders urge UN Member States to cooperate fully with authorities on this matter. On July 01, EAM S Jaishnakar at QUAD summit opening remark launched veiled target over Pakistan for dastardly 22nd April Pahalgam attack. EAM Jaishankar also informed that India is going to host next QUAD Summit. Later, EAM Jaishankar visited Pentagon and met with US defence secy Pete Hegseth. Right after meeting with Hegseth, Jaishankar met with US state secy Marco Rubio to discuss bilateral partnership.
