Now, Ukraine has accused Belarus of ‘concentrating’ troops on the nations’ shared border. Belarus been hosting Wagner fighters after Prigozhin’s 2023 failed mutiny against Putin. In a statement, the Ukrainian Govt warned Minsk against ‘unfriendly actions’. Ukraine: Warn Belarus not to make tragic mistakes under Moscow’s pressure. Belarus has provided ally Russia with a strategic advantage in the war against Ukraine. Belarus’ involvement has raised tensions with NATO nations in East Europe. Just like Russia, Belarus’ ties with Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland have nosedived. Putin has seized on the weaknesses of Lukashenko to hasten the 2 nations’ integration. No signs of an endgame in war despite U.S. & allies’ efforts to bolster the Ukrainians. The Russia-Ukraine conflict seems destined to enter an even more complicated phase.
