Punjab's Worst Floods In Decades, 39 Dead: Rivers Rage, Cities And Villages Inundated | India Today

Punjab is experiencing its most severe floods in decades, with the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej rivers flowing over the danger mark. The deluge has inundated more than a thousand villages, affecting approximately 1.25 lakh people and submerging nearly 3 lakh acres of farmland. At least 29 people have died. Cities including Ludhiana and Jalandhar are facing significant waterlogging, with residents in some areas claiming a lack of administrative action despite prior warnings. One citizen stated, "We have personally called for water, but the government has not helped us in any way." The Indian Army and NDRF are conducting relief and rescue operations in the worst-hit districts like Ferozepur. In response to the crisis, which has caused extensive crop and livestock losses, Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan has established a high-powered committee and requested 60,000 crore rupees in relief funds from the Centre. #punjabfloods #punjabrains #floods #itwebvideos #heavyrain #disaster #rescueoperation #ndrf #indianarmy #ravi #beas #sutlej #waterlogging #ludhiana #jalandhar #ferozepur
