Outside the courtroom, Bhullar claimed that the allegations against him are ‘totally wrong’. The arrest followed a complaint from a scrap dealer alleging Bhullar demanded an ₹8 lakh bribe to settle a case and sought monthly payments. During extensive raids, the CBI seized approximately ₹7.5 crore in cash, around 2.5 kg of gold, 26 luxury watches, and documents for over 50 immovable properties. A special CBI court in Chandigarh has since sent Bhullar, a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), to 14-day judicial custody as the investigation into the massive recovery and bribery allegations continues.
