Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia slams the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government following the murder of an Aam Aadmi Party leader in Jalandhar. Speaking to RD India Today, Majithia stated, "It’s become a total gangland," highlighting the deteriorating security situation where even ruling party members are unsafe. He criticized the reliance on a "temporary DGP," arguing that acting DGP Gaurav Yadav is focused on pleasing Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann rather than ensuring public safety. Majithia claimed that extortion calls have become a daily reality, deterring investment and leaving citizens in fear. He further alleged that the Punjab government is using frivolous cases to silence the media and opposition voices. The SAD leader confirmed he met with the DGP to convey the "voice of Punjab" and demanded a permanent DGP with a fixed tenure to restore order in the border state.
