In Ajnala, Punjab, severe flooding has inundated approximately 1100 villages, leading to 23 fatalities and the loss of thousands of livestock. Water levels have reached 10 to 20 feet, forcing residents onto their rooftops as the administration has halted movement, including tractors, for safety reasons. Leader of the Opposition, Pratap Singh Bajwa, present at the scene, has written to the Prime Minister for assistance. He stated, "I have already written to the Honorable Prime Minister Punjab and the farmers of Punjab have always stood by the nation now it is time for the Prime Minister to stand with Punjab."
