Two people were killed and 32 others were injured after an old bridge collapsed in Pune amid heavy rain on Sunday afternoon, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. The bridge collapsed and fell into the Indrayani river and swept away at least 15 to 20 people with the speeding stream.
The incident occurred when several people had gathered on the bridge, which had been in a dilapidated state, to witness the swelling river. Among the injured, six of them were critical, according to Fadnavis.
