Private Transport Association Seeks Action On Rapido's Bike-Taxi Services | India Today News

The State Private Transport Association has submitted a formal complaint to Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, objecting to Rapido resuming its bike-taxi operations in Bengaluru. The association contends that the company has restarted its services without court approval, which they allege is a violation of the legal process. In their representation, the association stated that Rapido “has started operations in violation of the legal process, calling it a clear case of contempt of court.” This development follows a Karnataka High Court directive that gave the government one month to make a decision on regulating bike-taxis. The transport association is urging action, arguing that the court only asked the government to consider the matter and did not grant permission for services to resume. The transport department is now expected to appeal in court.
