A private Bombardier Challenger 600 jet carrying eight people crashed while taking off from Bangor International Airport in Maine around 7:45 p.m. Sunday. The incident happened amid steady snowfall and a major winter storm affecting New England and much of the northeastern US. Emergency crews responded immediately, the airport was closed, and no immediate information was available on the conditions of those on board. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation.
