The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by the BJP against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, relating to an alleged defamatory speech made during the 2024 Lok Sabha election campaign. The bench, headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and including Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice P.S. Narasimha, not only rejected the plea but also issued a strong message to political parties across the country, cautioning against using the judiciary as a battleground for political rivalries.
