A political storm has emerged over the voter list survey in Bihar, with the ruling BJP and the opposition exchanging allegations. The Supreme Court observed that the special intensive revision by the Election Commission in Bihar is voter-friendly, noting it allows 11 documents compared to 7 for standard revisions. The controversy follows the Congress maintaining allegations of ‘vote-chori fraud’ against the Election Commission. The BJP responded, with Amit Malviya claiming a Congress MP’s name was on the voter list in 1980 before Indian citizenship, deleted in 1982, with citizenship accepted in 1983. The BJP also dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s charges of election list fraud in the Mahadev Pura assembly segment of Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha seat. The party claimed over 2 lakh doubtful voters in Raebareli and multiple entries. It alleged three people over 100 years old were added as new voters in Wayanad, with over 93,000 doubtful voters and 52 voters at one address. The Congress is intensifying its ‘vote sherry’ campaign with social media posts and a nationwide protest beginning with candlelight marches on the eve of Independence Day. #biharpolitics #voterlist #electioncommission #itwebvideos #supremecourt #bjp #congress #votefraud #electoralroll #politicalstorm #rahulgandhi #soniagandhi #raebareli #wayanad #varanasi #protest #socialmedia #independenceday
