PM's Development Push For Arunachal: From 'Last Village' To Nation's 'First Village' | India Today

The central government’s focus is on developing Arunachal Pradesh and the North East through enhanced connectivity and infrastructure. Key projects include new helipads under the UDAAN scheme and a new terminal at Hollongi airport, improving access for passengers, tourists, and local farmers. This development is part of the national goal to make India a developed country by 2047. The region is also central to India’s aim of producing 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030, with new hydropower projects set to strengthen Arunachal’s position as a power producer. A significant policy shift is the transformation of border areas. The speaker stated that areas the previous Congress government called "last villages" are now being developed as the nation’s "first villages" under the Vibrant Village Programme, which aims to reverse migration by providing better facilities and boosting tourism.
