Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ekta Nagar and Kevadia in Gujarat on October 30, 2025, as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In a significant push towards sustainable tourism and green mobility, PM Modi flagged off 25 new electric buses (e-buses) at around 5:15 PM, bringing the total fleet to 55 e-buses in the region. These 9-meter AC mini e-buses offer free, eco-friendly travel for tourists, with a range of up to 180 km per charge, facilities for the differently-abled, two emergency exits, and four pink seats reserved for women to ensure inclusivity and safety.Following the flag-off, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over Rs 1,140 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, tourism, and sustainability around the Statue of Unity.
