PM Narendra Modi LIVE: PM Lays Foundation Stone & Inaugurates Metro Projects In Bengaluru
On August 10, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bengaluru to inaugurate the 19.15-km Yellow Line of the Namma Metro, connecting RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra, a crucial corridor linking Bengaluru’s residential, commercial, and IT hubs, including Electronic City. Built at a cost of approximately ₹5,057 crore, this Phase-2 expansion features 16 stations and is expected to serve nearly 8 lakh commuters daily, easing traffic congestion at key junctions like Silk Board. PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for the ₹15,611 crore Phase-3 of Bengaluru Metro, spanning 44.65 km with 31 elevated stations, set to enhance connectivity to underserved areas like Magadi Road and the Outer Ring Road by 2029. During the visit, the Prime Minister flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains, including the Bengaluru–Belagavi route, and took a metro ride from RV Road to Electronic City, underscoring the government’s commitment to transforming Bengaluru’s public transport infrastructure. Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya hailed the event as a “landmark moment,” noting that these projects, worth nearly ₹20,000 crore, will benefit over 25 lakh residents.
