PM Narendra Modi LIVE: PM Holds Bilateral Meeting With Singapore PM Wong At Hyderabad House, Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a bilateral meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on September 4, 2025, as part of Wong’s three-day official visit to India. This landmark engagement, hosted by PM Modi, marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore and builds on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership elevated during Modi’s September 2024 visit to Singapore.
The discussions aim to review robust bilateral cooperation in key areas such as advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare, skill development, sustainability, fintech, space technology, defence, and green energy, while addressing regional and global issues of mutual interest. Expected outcomes include the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in finance, digital innovation, skill development, civil aviation, maritime cooperation, and space technology. PM Wong, on his first official visit as Singapore’s Prime Minister, is accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation including Cabinet Ministers.
Earlier in the visit, Wong paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and held talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and other dignitaries. The meeting underscores Singapore’s role as India’s key partner in the ‘Act East’ Policy, with bilateral trade reaching USD 34.3 billion in FY 2024-25 and cumulative FDI from Singapore at USD 174.88 billion. It promises to boost trade, investment, employment, and people-to-people ties, reinforcing ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ through enhanced economic and technological collaboration.
