Prime Minister Modi’s final day in Sri Lanka includes a visit to the Jayashree Mahabodhi temple and inauguration of an upgraded railway signalling system in Anuradhapura. The visit has strengthened India-Sri Lanka ties with seven MOUs signed, including a historic first defence deal. A Sri Lankan official stated, ‘Prime Minister Modi, whatever he’s committed to Sri Lanka in the previous time, he has fulfilled. So his commitment is the word.’
