The battle for Bihar has intensified with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav trading sharp attacks on the campaign trail. PM Modi alleged that the ‘RJD snatched the Chief Minister candidacy from Congress at gunpoint and forced them into submission’. He led a massive roadshow in Patna, where he paid tribute to poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, and is set to hold more rallies. Rahul Gandhi retorted by calling the Prime Minister a ‘darpog’ (coward), alleging he is controlled by industrialists. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav slammed the BJP-led NDA, claiming it has turned Bihar into a ‘labour supplier’ and failed its youth. The Prime Minister has repeatedly invoked the spectre of ‘jungle raj’ to describe the previous RJD rule, a charge the opposition refutes with promises of jobs and development.
