Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, hoisted the Dharam Dhwaja at the Ayodhya Ram temple. In his address, the Prime Minister called for an end to the ‘Macaulay mindset’ and ‘mental slavery’, linking the revival of India’s civilisational heritage to national development. PM Modi stated, ‘If we decide that in the next ten years, we will get complete freedom from mental slavery, then such a fire will be ignited’. He cited the Indian Navy’s new ensign inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji as a sign of India reclaiming its heritage. The event was framed as a push to shed colonial thinking and revive national pride to achieve the dream of a developed India by 2047.
