The government outlines its initiatives for farmer welfare, detailing significant financial disbursements through key programmes. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has provided farmers with approximately Rs. 4.75 lakh crores, transferred directly to their accounts to eliminate intermediaries. A new scheme, the Pradhanmantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, has been approved with an outlay of Rs. 24,000 crore to focus on developing agriculture in districts with low productivity. Additionally, the PM Fasal Bima Yojana has settled claims worth over Rs. 2.5 lakh crore to protect farmers from weather-related crop damage.
