PM Modi's ₹9000 Cr Mizoram Push: Aizawl Connected To Delhi By Rail For First Time | India Today

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated development projects worth ₹9000 crore in Mizoram, marking a historic day for the state by placing its capital, Aizawl, on the Indian railway map. For the first time, Mizoram is now directly connected to New Delhi via the Rajdhani Express. Addressing a rally virtually due to bad weather, the Prime Minister stated that the Northeast had long suffered from neglect by previous governments focused on "vote-bank politics." He emphasised his administration’s commitment to the region’s development, highlighting a key quote from his speech: "Those who were earlier neglected are at the forefront now. Those who were once marginalized are the mainstream now." The projects are expected to boost tourism, the local economy, and provide residents with better access to markets, education, and healthcare. The Prime Minister also spoke about Operation Sindoor, hailing the role of made-in-India weapons.
