Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate ‘Seva Ateerth’, the new address for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Advisor’s office, and the Cabinet Secretariat. This historic move marks the first time since independence that the PMO will function outside the South and North blocks. The transition includes the inauguration of Kartavya Bhavan I and II, which will house key central ministries. According to an official release, the shift reflects a commitment to a modern, citizen-centric administrative ecosystem and the vision of shedding colonial legacy. The final Cabinet meeting in the South Block is scheduled for 4 pm, followed by the formal inauguration of the new complex at 6 pm. Following the relocation, the iconic South and North blocks at Raisina Hill are expected to be converted into a national museum, projected to be the world’s largest. The new complex is situated approximately half a kilometre from the existing office, signifying a major transformation in India’s governance architecture.
