A new train service connecting Jammu to Srinagar is set to revolutionise travel in the region. The journey time will be reduced to just 3 hours 10 minutes, compared to the previous 7-8 hours by road. The train will cross the Chenab Railway Bridge, which at 359 metres above the river, is taller than the Eiffel Tower. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the first train, with operations beginning at 8 am the following day.
