Following their meeting in Mumbai, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer outlined a significant expansion of bilateral cooperation, building on the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) signed in July. Key announcements include a move towards defence co-production and an agreement for Indian Air Force instructors to train the UK’s Royal Air Force. In education, nine UK universities will establish campuses in India. The leaders also detailed cooperation on technology and critical minerals. UK Prime Minister Starmer stated, "we are creating a new modern partnership focused on the future and on winning the opportunities that it offers and we are doing it together." The talks also covered global issues, including the Indo-Pacific, the conflict in Ukraine, and the situation in Gaza, with the UK Prime Minister welcoming a deal on a peace plan.
