In a special address marking the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party while outlining his vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047. Speaking at the event, PM Modi accused the Congress of maintaining a ‘divisive mindset’ similar to the one that led to the partition of 1937 and the imposition of the Emergency, stating they ‘stabbed the Constitution in the back’. He emphasized that the spirit of Vande Mataram, which fueled the freedom struggle, must now inspire the nation’s journey towards self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat) and development. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that this spirit would energize ‘both Houses’ and the entire nation to achieve the goal of a developed India.
