Prime Minister Modi is chairing a high-level meeting with senior ministers to review the situation related to petroleum, crude power and fertiliser sectors in view of the evolving West Asia situation. The focus is on ensuring uninterrupted supply, stable logistics and efficient distribution across the country. The government is taking proactive steps to safeguard energy security and maintain adequate availability, with continuous monitoring of global developments to protect consumer and industry interests. The meeting will be attended by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri, and JP Nadda, among other senior ministers. The government aims to address public panic regarding LPG supplies and explore alternative options to maintain the supply chain. Regular briefings are being conducted to keep the public informed and prevent hoarding and black marketing practices.
