Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the National War Memorial to pay homage ahead of the Republic Day parade. He was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, service chiefs, and the Chief of Defence Staff. The Prime Minister laid a wreath at the Amar Chakra, observing two minutes of silence. The ceremony included the sounding of the Last Post and the Rouse by buglers.
