Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a bilateral meeting in Israel, with their delegations including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The talks focused on defence, security, agriculture, science, and technology cooperation. India is seeking Iron Dome-type capabilities, missile technology, and joint manufacturing agreements with emphasis on technology transfer and Make in India. The two countries are working towards concluding a free trade agreement by December 2026. Around 17 MOUs are expected to be signed covering areas including defence procurement, counter-drone technologies, laser systems, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cyber security. The leaders also discussed West Asia geopolitical tensions, the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, Israeli infrastructure projects involving Indian companies, and water desalination technology. Modi earlier addressed the Israeli Knesset emphasising peace while condemning terrorism.
