Prime Minister Narendra Modi is marking his entry into his 25th year as a head of government, recalling his first oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister in 2001. In a tweet, he stated, "On this day in 2001, I took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for the first time. Thanks to the continuous blessings of my fellow Indians, I’m entering my 25th year of serving as the Head of Government." He took charge of the state in October 2001, following a devastating earthquake in January of that year, with his initial focus being the rebuilding of Gujarat. The period also marked a turbulent time for the BJP in the state. Since then, he has led the BJP to subsequent election victories in Gujarat and, from 2014, in two Lok Sabha elections. Pledging to work even harder, he mentioned the Constitution as his constant guide to achieve the dream of a ‘victorious Bharat’.
