PM Modi Lists 'Zero' Development Under RJD's 15-Year Rule, Cites No New Medical Colleges

In a blistering attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the party of presiding over 15 years of ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar with zero development. ‘Puri Ek pidhi ka bhavish hai. RJD ke neta Kha Gaye’ (RJD leaders ate away the future of an entire generation), the Prime Minister said while addressing a rally. The term ‘Jungle Raj’ is often used by critics to describe the RJD’s rule from 1990 to 2005, a period they associate with a breakdown of law and order and economic stagnation. Modi claimed that during these 15 years, there were no new expressways, bridges over the Kosi river, medical colleges, IITs, or National Law Universities established in the state. He framed the period as one of rampant corruption that crushed the dreams of Bihar’s youth and contrasted it with the NDA’s focus on ‘Sushasan’ or good governance.
