Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed for a two-day visit to Russia, where he will meet President Vladimir Putin in Moscow and hold talks with him over a range of issues. This will be PM Modi’s first visit to Russia in nearly five years and will travel to Austria on July 9 and 10 after wrapping up his engagements in Moscow. The Prime Minister will visit Austria for the first time and will also mark the first trip by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 41 years, after Indira Gandhi in 1983.
Before his departure, PM Modi said his upcoming visits to Russia and Austria would present an opportunity for India to boost relations between both countries. He described that India shared a time-tested friendship with both countries.
