PM Modi Inaugurates Noida International Airport, Set To Ease Delhi IGI Airport Congestion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport), the second international airport in the National Capital Region after Delhi’s IGI. Built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore under a PPP model with Zurich Airport expertise, the greenfield airport features a 3,900-metre runway and is designed as a net zero emission facility. Phase 1 will handle 1.2 crore passengers annually, expandable to 7 crore. The airport aims to decongest IGI, boost cargo operations, and drive economic growth in western Uttar Pradesh with future high-speed rail and metro connectivity. UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel were present.
